Lyme Park – National Trust

After many years of enjoying various National Trust sites, we have finally signed up for a membership. About time! Also we have both decided that we are going to visit EVERY single National Trust site. It may take us a good few years but we are up for the challenge… #OurNationalTrustChallenge

Last week we went to Lyme Park for the day. One off the check list.

Lyme Park

The grounds are huge. There are many paths to explore, grab a map and enjoy the gardens, moorland and the deer park.

As a conservation charity, our core aim is to ensure that Lyme thrives for ever, for everyone.

There are different events held here throughout the year including sporting days, reflecting Lyme’s past of being a sport estate. You can find out what’s on here. Of course you can also go inside the house too and enjoy Lyme’s ravishing interiors, which throw you right into the Regency era. Speaking of which, I can’t do a Lyme Park blog and not mention Pride and Prejudice!

Lyme Park is well known for it’s home to Mr.Darcy. My boyfriends mum is a huge fan, so we bought her an I heart Mr.Darcy tote bag. She also has a mug with his picture on #superfan.

The House

We had a nice walk around the grounds, until it started raining. Oh so typical.

The National Trust is a charity and relies on making money through memberships and there online store, as well as the little stores at each National trust site. I’m a sucker for a shop. Without the help from people like you and I, the National Trust would be unable to protect these beautiful places.

As a member, you’ll enjoy free access to hundreds of unforgettable places. You’ll also help protect them for future generations.

If I haven’t managed to convince you to become a member then have a look at this – *Ten ways the National Trust membership may change your life…I know its changed mine.
